AnglersChallenge

Pick your colors. Fish them hard. Prove you can catch on all five before you run out of flies. No entry fees. No cash prizes. Just pure bragging rights.

The Rizing Rivers Anglers Challenge is a voluntary, friendly community fishing challenge designed to push anglers to try new colors, enjoy some friendly competition, and introduce more people to this niche style of fishing. This is not a tournament — no entry fees, no cash prizes, no formal scoring. Just the satisfaction of completing the challenge and earning your spot on our wall of recognition.

🎯

The Objective

Choose 5 different eligible Rizing Rivers colors and catch 1 legally hooked fish on each of those 5 colors — all within a single fishing outing. That's 5 fish, 5 different colors.

Here's the catch: you only get 5 baits per color (25 total). Lose all 5 baits of any one incomplete color before landing a fish on it, and you're eliminated.

⚙️

How It Works

01

Pick Your 5 Colors

Select 5 different eligible Rizing Rivers colors. Grab 5 baits of each — that's your challenge set of 25 baits max.

02

Snap Your Starting Photo

Take 1 photo showing all 5 of your chosen fly colors together before you start fishing.

03

Hit the Water

Fish your outing — one day, one trip. No species restrictions. Move spots, change waters, do your thing.

04

Land & Document Each Catch

For each color, land 1 fish, physically touch or hold it, and photograph the fish, lure, and hook location.

05

Complete All 5 Colors

Catch and document a fish on all 5 colors to complete the challenge. Share it for your recognition.

🎣

Eligible Baits

Only official Rizing Rivers products qualify:

✔ Rizing Rivers Bucktail Flies

✔ Rizing Rivers Bucktail Fly Spinners (once officially released)

All baits must be fished exactly as sold. No modifications. No exceptions.

🚫

No Modifications Allowed

Your bait must stay in its original sold condition. That means:

No added scent
No live bait
No soft bait
No trimming or cutting
No added hair or materials
No hook changes
No spinner changes
No alterations of any kind
💡 Good to Know

Bent hooks from fishing are totally fine — bend them back and keep going. A bait that's beat up but still in your possession is still a usable bait. It only counts as "lost" if you can't retrieve it (snag, break-off, etc.).

🎣

What Counts as a Catch

For a fish to count toward your challenge, all four of these must be true:

✔️ Caught legally under all applicable laws and regulations
✔️ Hooked legally in the mouth
✔️ Landed by the angler
✔️ Physically touched or held by the angler

Any species counts — no restrictions there. But if you don't land it and touch it, it doesn't count.

📷

Proof Requirements

You need a minimum of 6 photos total to complete the challenge:

1 Starting Photo — All 5 of your chosen fly colors shown together

5 Catch Photos — One per completed color, clearly showing the fish, the lure, and the visible hook location

Video is welcome but not required. No pre-challenge declaration post needed — just show the proof when you're done.

💀

The Elimination Rule

⚠️ This Is What Makes It a Challenge

If you lose all 5 baits of any one incomplete color before catching a fish on that color — you're out. That attempt is over. Choose wisely, fish smart, and protect your flies.

Remember: a bait is only "lost" if you can't retrieve it. Snags, break-offs, unrecoverable losses — those count. A beat-up fly that's still in your hand? That's still in play.

🏁

Ties & Recognition

If two competitors hook their potential winning fish at the same time, the winner is whoever lands and touches the fish first.

There are no cash prizes. Successful completions may earn you bragging rights, a feature post, and recognition on Rizing Rivers social media — at Rizing Rivers' discretion.

⚖️

Fishing Laws & Regulations

You are solely responsible for following all applicable fishing laws wherever you fish — seasons, bag limits, size limits, harvest rules, water-specific regulations, the whole deal.

🌿 Catch & Release Encouraged

Rizing Rivers encourages catch-and-release practices whenever harvest is not intended. Release your fish promptly when appropriate and legally permitted.

1. Purpose and Nature of the Challenge

The Rizing Rivers Anglers Challenge ("Challenge") is a voluntary recreational community activity offered by Rizing Rivers to encourage anglers to try new colors, enjoy friendly competition, and help introduce more people to this niche style of fishing.

The Challenge is intended solely for fun, community engagement, and informal recognition. It is not operated as a fishing tournament, sweepstakes, raffle, lottery, or other regulated prize competition unless expressly stated otherwise by Rizing Rivers in a separate written announcement.

2. No Tournament Status

The Challenge is not a fishing tournament. There is no tournament administration, no entry fee, no guaranteed prize pool, no cash payout, and no formal weigh-in or scoring system.

Any public recognition, social media feature, or "winner" designation is informal and promotional in nature only.

3. Eligibility

Participation is open only to individuals who can lawfully fish in the location where they participate and who comply with all applicable laws, license requirements, and regulations.

By participating, each participant represents that they are legally eligible to fish where they are fishing and that they have authority to submit any photos or videos they provide.

4. Challenge Objective

To complete the Challenge, a participant must choose five (5) different eligible Rizing Rivers colors and catch one (1) legally hooked fish on each of those five selected colors before elimination.

A completed Challenge requires five (5) fish total, with each fish caught on a different one of the participant's five selected colors.

5. Eligible Products

Only official Rizing Rivers Bucktail Flies and official Rizing Rivers Bucktail Fly Spinners are eligible for use in the Challenge.

Bucktail Fly Spinners may be used only after official release by Rizing Rivers or when otherwise expressly approved by Rizing Rivers.

All eligible products must be fished exactly as sold by Rizing Rivers.

6. No Modifications

No modifications to any Challenge bait are permitted. This includes, without limitation, adding scent, bait, hair, soft plastics, extra materials, different spinner components, different hooks, trimming, cutting, or altering the bait in any way.

The bait must remain in the same condition and configuration as originally sold by Rizing Rivers, except for ordinary wear, damage, or hook bending that occurs during lawful fishing use.

7. Selection of Colors and Bait Quantity

Each participant must select five (5) different eligible colors for a Challenge attempt.

For each selected color, the participant is limited to five (5) total baits. Accordingly, one Challenge attempt consists of a maximum of twenty-five (25) total baits: five (5) colors multiplied by five (5) baits per color.

8. Proof Requirements

A separate pre-Challenge declaration post is not required.

To complete the Challenge, the participant must provide or post a minimum of six (6) total photos: (a) one (1) photo showing all five chosen colors for that Challenge attempt, and (b) five (5) catch photos, one for each completed color.

Each catch photo must clearly show the fish, the lure used, and the visible hook location. Video may be provided but is optional and not required.

9. What Counts as a Valid Catch

For a fish to count toward completion of a color, the fish must: (a) be caught legally under all applicable laws and regulations; (b) be hooked legally in the mouth; (c) be landed; and (d) be physically touched or held by the participant.

If a fish is not landed and physically touched or held by the participant, it does not count.

10. Completion of a Color

A selected color is deemed completed once the participant lands, touches or holds, and documents one (1) valid catch on that color.

Once a color is completed, it remains completed even if later baits of that same color are lost.

11. Loss of a Bait

A bait counts as lost only if the participant loses possession of it and cannot retrieve it. Examples may include a break-off, an unrecoverable snag in rocks or trees, or other unrecoverable loss.

If the bait is retrieved, it is not considered lost.

Bent hooks do not make a bait lost. A hook may be bent back and the bait may continue to be used. Likewise, a bait that becomes worn, torn, beat up, or deteriorated but remains in the participant's possession is still considered usable and must be fished in that condition unless and until it is truly lost.

12. Elimination

If a participant loses all five (5) baits of any one incomplete selected color before catching a valid fish on that color, that participant is eliminated from that Challenge attempt and cannot win that attempt.

13. Duration of a Challenge Attempt

A Challenge attempt is intended to last for one fishing outing. There is no required single body of water, single location, single region, or fixed route during that outing.

Participants may change spots, travel, or fish different waters during the same outing. The Challenge is generally expected to take place during one day or one trip, often around eight (8) hours, but there is no strict clock-based limit beyond the outing itself.

14. No Sharing of Challenge Sets

Each participant must use their own Challenge set of baits. Baits may not be shared between competitors during a Challenge attempt.

15. Species and Harvest

There is no species requirement. Any fish species may count if the catch otherwise satisfies these Terms and all applicable laws.

Rizing Rivers encourages catch-and-release practices whenever harvest is not intended. Fish should be released promptly when appropriate and legally permitted.

16. Compliance with Laws and Regulations

Each participant is solely responsible for complying with all applicable local, state, provincial, and federal laws and regulations, including seasons, licensing requirements, bag limits, size limits, hook restrictions, tackle restrictions, water-specific rules, and harvest rules.

Rizing Rivers does not supervise participants and assumes no responsibility for participants' compliance or non-compliance with such laws and regulations.

17. Tie Resolution

If two or more competitors hook what could be their winning fish at the same time, the Challenge winner is determined by whichever participant first lands and physically touches or holds the fish.

18. Recognition Only; No Guaranteed Prize

The Challenge does not guarantee any cash prize or physical prize.

At Rizing Rivers' sole discretion, successful participants may receive public recognition, bragging rights, a social media feature, or similar informal acknowledgment.

19. Content License

By tagging Rizing Rivers, submitting Challenge photos or videos to Rizing Rivers, or otherwise providing Challenge-related content for recognition or reposting, the participant grants Rizing Rivers a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to repost, display, share, publish, and use that content for community, promotional, and marketing purposes, unless prohibited by applicable law.

The participant represents that they own the submitted content or otherwise have the right to grant this permission.

20. Assumption of Risk

Participation in fishing activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to water hazards, slipping, falling, hook injuries, line injuries, weather exposure, travel risks, equipment failure, wildlife encounters, boating risks, and risks associated with remote or changing environmental conditions.

By participating, each participant knowingly and voluntarily assumes all risks associated with participation in the Challenge and with fishing activities generally.

21. Release and Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, each participant agrees that Rizing Rivers and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, partners, representatives, successors, and assigns shall not be liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, theft, damage, claim, citation, penalty, legal violation, property damage, equipment damage, or any other direct or indirect loss arising out of or relating to participation in the Challenge.

Participation is entirely at the participant's own risk.

22. Right to Reject or Remove Submissions

Rizing Rivers reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject, refuse, remove, ignore, or decline to recognize any submission or claimed completion for any reason, including insufficient proof, suspected cheating, unlawful conduct, unsafe behavior, abusive conduct, false representations, or misuse of the Rizing Rivers brand.

23. Changes, Suspension, or Termination

Rizing Rivers may modify, clarify, suspend, discontinue, or terminate the Challenge or these Terms at any time, with or without prior notice.

Any interpretation of these Terms, proof requirements, eligibility, or completion standards made by Rizing Rivers shall be final.

24. Acceptance of Terms

By participating in the Challenge, each participant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
